Grady awarded Student Initiated SPUR grant!

Grady Pierroz, undergraduate major in Genetics and Plant Biology, was awarded a student initiated SPUR to conduct his senior research on the effect of tissue culture on patterns of genome methylation and transposon activity in Musa (bananas).  Sponsored Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) of the College of Natural Resources at UC Berkeley provides 2,000USD in research supplies and expenses to help Grady carry out his research.  Grady will be working in collaboration with graduate student Susan Hepp and research associate Dr. Tony Talo.
