Cameron joined the lab as a SPUR student in fall 2013 working on floral developmental evolution in the Zingiberales, specifically focusing on AP1 and its role in the gene networks regulating flower development.

On her dreams and goals:  "I would like to integrate my knowledge of plant genetics and physiological processes with my interest in forest ecological systems (especially mixed conifer and redwood) to investigate the potential for sustainable management practices. Basically my dream job would involve describing forest evolution in terms of all its biotic and abiotic synergistic relationships, based on both molecular data and data that I've personally collected in the field."

Cameron was a GBP major (2014) with a minor in forestry.
